Knitting Pattern ~ Checkers Washcloth

Hand-knit cotton washcloths are much softer than regular facecloths. Using unmercerized cotton makes care simple, just put them in the washer and dryer with your towels. Here's a simple pattern for you to try. |

Materials:
- 1 skein 100% unmercerized cotton yarn (recommended: Sugar 'n Cream
made by Lily)
- pair of knitting needles, size 7
Directions:
Cast on 40 stitches.
Row 1: K5,P5, repeat across row Row 2: K5,P5, repeat across row
Row 3: K5,P5, repeat across row Row 4: K5,P5, repeat across row
Row 5: K5,P5, repeat across row
Row 6: P5,K5, repeat across row Row 7: P5,K5, repeat across row
Row 8: P5,K5, repeat across row Row 9: P5,K5, repeat across row
Row 10: P5,K5, repeat across row
Repeat rows 1-10 five times. Then bind off and weave in the yarn ends.
